JAPANESE CARS, A PERSONAL STANDARD

Sharing a closer look under the bonnet at the TougeSupply garage

TougeSupply grew from years spent collecting, driving and racing Japanese cars. What started as a personal fascination became a garage built around finding the right examples and looking after them properly.

Based in Belgium, with our search extending deep into Japan.

02Long before the first drive

WE ALL HAD THAT ONE CAR

Some cars take you back before they take you anywhere.

Gran Turismo after school, Japanese tuning magazines, The Fast and the Furious, and cars on screens and bedroom walls.

For many of us, the fascination started long before we could drive. Skylines, Supras, RX-7s and Evos became more than cars we wanted. They became part of why we started caring about cars in the first place.

Years later, that feeling is still there. We just know a little better what to look for now.

03Meet the founder

Wouter Bollen

Wouter Bollen
FOUNDER · SOURCING & SELECTION

Wouter spent years collecting, driving and racing Japanese cars before TougeSupply existed.

That experience also showed him another side of the market. Too many cars reached Europe because they were inexpensive to buy rather than because they were genuinely good examples. Rust, previous accident damage and poor repairs were not uncommon, and lower-grade cars often shaped the reputation of Japanese imports here.

Wouter wanted to approach it differently.

Today he personally leads the sourcing and selection at TougeSupply, with a focus on clean, honest cars with good history and the right specification. Rust, previous damage and questionable repairs are exactly the things we want to discover before a car is bought, not afterwards.

“If I wouldn’t own it myself, it doesn’t make the cut.”

04Our standard

GOOD CARS HOLD UP TO A CLOSER LOOK

We are not interested in buying a car simply because the model is desirable. We want to understand the individual car before putting our name behind it.

  1. CONDITION

Bodywork, underside, interior and mechanical condition all deserve a proper look.

  2. HISTORY

Available records, previous ownership and known repairs help us understand where a car came from.

  3. SPECIFICATION

Colour, transmission, factory options and modifications can completely change how desirable an example is.

  4. HONESTY

Not every old Japanese car is perfect. What matters is knowing what is there and being open about it.
