This 2000 Subaru Impreza S201 currently shows around 118,000 km and is in very good condition for its age. It's a special example, with a well-kept exterior, a beautifully preserved interior and a solid underbody forming a strong foundation.
The silver bodywork looks particularly good, set off by the gold wheels, signature S201 side skirts and the striking double rear wing. Inside, the car makes an equally tidy impression. The blue STI sports seats, matching interior accents and white gauge faces give the cabin its distinctive character. The engine bay could use some cosmetic attention to bring it up to the same level as the rest of the car.
One important detail concerns the bumpers. The original S201 front and rear bumpers are not currently fitted; the car wears other Impreza bumpers instead. Several characteristic S201 details have been retained, as the photos clearly show.
At TougeSupply, originality matters a great deal to us. That's why we went looking for the correct bumpers and have since located an original set, currently offered at €5,000. If desired, we can handle the purchase and fitting by mutual agreement, as long as the set remains available. We'll discuss the total cost of returning the car to its original specification in advance.
At the same time, we understand the appeal of its current look. The original S201 body kit was famously outspoken: a bold creation that instantly brings Need for Speed Underground to mind. The current bumpers give the car a more understated face while keeping the special S201 foundation intact. For those who prefer the full factory look, there's a concrete path to restoring it.
The S201 holds a special place in Subaru history. It marked the start of the S-series, in which STI thoroughly reworked the GC8. The package included a two-litre turbo boxer tuned to 300 hp, revised intake and exhaust, a dedicated ECU, height-adjustable suspension and a front limited-slip differential. The forged wheels were developed together with RAYS. These technical upgrades make it at least as interesting as its eye-catching looks.
Its rarity may go even further than the announced production run suggests. STI set the limit at 300 units, but the specialist chassis database LegacyPic documents only 87 S201 examples. That points to a potentially much smaller actual production and makes the story behind this first S-series car all the more special.
For us, this combination of rarity, technical individuality and historical significance makes it a particularly interesting opportunity for an enthusiast or collector in Europe. An S201 with a well-kept foundation, clearly stated points of attention and the option to complete its original appearance. A special Subaru to enjoy now and to cherish for the long term.
